Negative magic

Though I did not do negative magic that often, I did it every so often.  I got my "karma time".  What goes around really does come around - threefold.  I also learn, though I do so slowly.

Ceremonial Magic vs Wicca

There is a large difference between Wicca and Ceremonial magick.  Wicca honors a Goddess and a God, has the Wiccan law, "If it harm none, love, do as you will."  Real Wiccans DO NOT conjure demons. (Many CM's [Ceremonial Magicians] do)  Wiccans believe that whatever you send out returns to you threefold regardless.  CM's believe that a spell only comes back on you if the defense is greater than the power of the spell.  CM's in my opinion harbor much pride.

"Ceremonial magic is frequently referred to as "high magic," although the terms are not actually synonymous. High magic is magic which has the ultimate purpose of bringing the magician closer with the divine. Historically, this is what ceremonial magicians claimed to be doing, in comparison with "low magic," which had mere practical purposes, was often considered to be rooted in superstition, and was sometimes equated with witchcraft.
Some modern witches do work purely practical magic. Many, however, work their magic in a very religious context and view their magic as drawing upon some connection with the divine."

CM's often feel they are better than Wiccans.

Purposes of magic

Ethical uses of magic spells includes:

Spells for yourself (own gain) as long as it harms none or manipulates none.

Spells to defend yourself (only exception for first rule)

Spells to heal the planet (earth)

Conjurations of demons, angels and/or Faeries are wrong.  It is wrong to harm, manipulate or threaten to harm any invisible being.  Sorcery is magic that harms or manipulates a visible or invisible being.

Those who practice dark magics will know the Deities' greatest warth.

Folk magic and malificara

Folk magic is not considered "black" magic.  Malificara is.  Helaing magic is right with ethical Wiccans.  Like I said in my last post, not all witches and wizards are good.  Some go bad.  Some go bad from inexperience, but learn from threefold return.  Some never learn.

Magic and drugs

This is meant for Wiccans and other Mages.  It is such bad karma to use drugs and magic at the same time.  This includes alcohol.  I was so high on acid (LSD) in a Santa Cruz park when Myself and a bunch of hippies, also high on acid raised a cone of power.  It was wrong for me to do it.  It left me mentally ill and with a damaged body (due to a hernia from stabbing myself).  So do not do magic and drugs, Wiccans and Pagans.

Sorcery and magic

A Native American teacher of mine, from a group called "the Giving Circle" once told me that sorcery is any kind of magic that harms or manipulates another being.  This also applys to non-physical beings (discarnate spirits).  It is wrong to conjure demons to do anything for a magician, and many CMs like those in the OTO practice this kind of magic.  Manipulative love spells is also considered sorcery.  Also black sympathetic magic is sorcery.  Even a healing spell without a person's permission is in that category and I have done that before.  I once sensed a friend of mine had ovarian cancer and I used a part of a cloak that I found that I sensed belonged to that person at one time and I administered Reiki on it to try to heal that person.  My intent was to heal the cancer because I did not want that person to suffer from that cancer.  Demonic conjuarations is the worst kind of sorcery though.

Not all kinds of magic is sorcery.  A ritual to celebrate Full Moon or a Sabbat (Yule, Summer Solstice or Samhain for example - there are eight of them) is okay.  This is celebratory.

My high priestess from a coven I was in once told me that there is no magic performed between Samhain and Yule, since this is a time of rest.
