Thrash metal and death metal such as Metallica, Demon Hunter, Megadeth (which warns about subjects such as nuclear war, toxic waste and extinction, Anthrax and bands like it that are not satanic in nature are okay.  Ozzy Osbourne started metal, Iron Maiden is pretty tame compared to Metallica and Megadeth.

About heavy metal and punk

We as heavy metalers can understand punk and punk rockers can do the same with heavy metal.  We do not have to combine our styles, but we can include each other and heavy metal stations can play punk that is hardcore, as well as political punk on their stations, and punk stations can play heavy metal.  Even grunge makes you feel for and care about each other.  I like both punk and metal.  Why not?

Heavy metal and punk are part of our culture.  The fundies have no right to scream bloody murder and round up the PMRC or sing that tired old Pillar song, frontline every time we have a punk show or a Monsters of Rock in a Colloseum.  I havent heard of a Monsters of Rock concert in years.  The music is so bland and Clear Channel even gobbbled up Air America like a parisitic Pac-man.
